Year 1 Introduction
We want to develop a life-long love of reading. It is important that your child is reading on a daily basis and their reading record book is signed by a parent or family member. Reading at home may include reading the school reading book, or sharing a book of your child's choice and commenting on the child's response to the text. This can also be recorded in the reading record book. Please keep us informed of books your child is enjoying at home. It is also important that the children are thinking about what they read and are developing an understanding of it. It is useful to ask a couple of questions about the text they have read each day.
If you have any concerns about your child, or anything else, please do not hesitate to come in and see me, preferably after school.
Thank you
Mrs Barrow
